I have prepared a series of white papers specifically focused on the topic of managing business relations with the public sector. My 33 years of experience in state government, working under six different administrations, has provided me with valuable background knowledge offering insight into the government thought process. I know that some of you may consider including the words “government” and “thought” in the same sentence an oxymoron, but you might be surprised to learn that there frequently is well-defined rationale guiding the actions of government officials.

This series of white papers is intended to provide a window into the often puzzling, frequently misunderstood public sector world, drawing upon my own personal experiences and perspective as a former government executive. This “insider” information can help improve procurement opportunities for those who do business with the public sector at the state, local and federal levels.
